Our story

Where tradition meets
every note

The harmonium arrived in India from Europe in the 19th century and never left. It found its soul here — in the bhajan, the kirtan, the qawwali — and became something entirely its own. Surangana was built to honour that story.

We specialise in crafting handmade harmoniums using seasoned teak wood, precision-tuned reeds, and multi-fold bellows — instruments built for musicians who refuse to compromise on sound. Each harmonium leaves our workshop individually tested and approved.

Beyond harmoniums, we supply spare parts, accessories, and support to musicians, music schools, and performers across India and internationally. Our commitment is simple: every instrument we sell should inspire the person who plays it.

What we stand for

Built on four
uncompromising beliefs

01

Skilled artisanship

Every harmonium is shaped by hand — not by a production line. Our artisans carry forward techniques passed through generations, blending time-honoured methods with careful modern refinements.

02

Quality without compromise

From the choice of teak to the tuning of each reed, quality is a decision made at every step. Our harmoniums are built to be played hard, played daily, and played for decades.

03

Complete musician support

We stock spare parts, bellows, reeds, and accessories so your instrument stays in peak condition. We support the full lifecycle of the harmonium, not just the sale.

04

Personal guidance

Choosing the right harmonium matters. We take time to understand what you need — your playing style, your music, your budget — and guide you to the instrument that fits.

A harmonium is not bought. It is chosen — and then it becomes yours forever. At Surangana, we make sure that choice is one you never regret.
